Sarah Evans, PhD

Sarah Evans, PhD is an associate professor of Communication at Molloy University. There I serve as the program director for the New Media B.S. degree and Game Studies B.S. degree. I earned my Ph.D. in Communication, Rhetoric, and Digital Media from North Carolina State University and my MA from Syracuse University’s Communication and Rhetorical Studies program. My primary research area focuses on understudied gaming histories and communities but most recently I’ve been researching, designing, and implementing critical AI literacy training for higher education faculty and students. My interdisciplinary research has been published in edited collections and journals like the Journal of Electronic Gaming and Esports and QED. I present my work nationally and internationally.

I have more than a decade of experience implementing new and emerging media technologies into the classroom with a focus on inclusive learning and innovation. I teach a variety of communication and media studies courses, with special focus on game studies and design, social media, and critical media literacies.
